Some yards need more than just seed thrown on them. When the ground is uneven and bare, you have to start from scratch - grade it out, break up the soil, and give the grass a real foundation to grow from. That's exactly what we did here.
We used Harley rakes to level and prep the entire yard before anything else happened. That step matters more than most people realize. A Harley rake breaks up compacted soil, pulls out debris, and leaves a fine, consistent seedbed. Skip that step and you're just throwing money at bad ground.
Once the grade was right and the soil was ready, we hydroseeded the whole area. Hydroseeding is one of the most effective ways to establish a new lawn, especially on larger or irregular areas. The slurry - seed, mulch, fertilizer, and water all mixed together - gets sprayed on in an even coat that holds moisture and gives the seed the best possible chance to germinate. That green tint you see is the hydromulch doing its job.
The work covered multiple areas around the property, front and back. Getting consistent coverage across all of it takes attention to detail. Too thin in spots and you end up with patchy grass. We take the time to make sure the whole area gets treated evenly.
This is the starting line, not the finish line. Grass takes time. But when the ground prep is done right and the hydroseed goes down properly, you end up with a thick, healthy lawn that fills in evenly. We'll let the results speak for themselves.
