Brick Patio and Stair Repair with Polymeric Sand Reset

Shifting bricks and crumbling joints are easy to ignore at first. But once the movement starts, it tends to spread - and what could have been a simple fix turns into a bigger problem down the road. That's exactly what was going on with this patio.

Here's what we were working with: pavers that had shifted out of place, worn-down joints that had lost their sand, and stairs that needed to be rebuilt and re-set properly. The wall also needed attention, so we handled that too and brought it back up to the stone veneer. It wasn't a total teardown situation - but it needed real work, not just a patch job.

We pulled the problem areas, re-set everything level, and rebuilt the stairs so they're solid and safe again. A plate compactor was used to pack everything back down tight before we finished with a full polymeric sand re-sweep across the whole surface. That last step matters more than people realize - poly sand locks the joints, keeps weeds out, and tightens the whole patio back up so it holds together long-term.

The herringbone pattern throughout this patio is easy to mess up if you don't pay close attention during re-setting. Keeping that pattern clean and consistent while fixing the damaged sections is part of what separates a proper repair from a sloppy one. We take that seriously.
